This term, our ‘Middle Upper Primary’ school students are taking action by joining a global movement in solidarity with families forced to flee their homes. This month long challenge, involves students walking 15 minutes a day and counting each step they take to raise funds for UNHCR – the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner in Australia.
This ‘taking action’ step is part of their inquiry cycle into ‘How and why do people seek homes in new places?’ This challenge will also support their development of essential numeracy skills such as measurement and data collection.
